Breakwater lies off the southeastern shore of Gabriola Island, between Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland of British Columbia in Georgia Strait.
The island is one mile long, 74 acres in area and 170 feet above sea level at its highest point.
It is home to deer, raccoon, eagle and various other birds, sea otter, clams, oysters, and could become your own private getaway.
Log Cabin
There are two houses on Breakwater, a five minute walk from each other. The island is only rented to one group at a time.
The larger cottage, Breakwater Log House, sleeps 4 adults and 2 children which were built in 1933 with hand tools for the first white settlers on Breakwater Island by some carpenters from the Snunéymuxw First Nation.
Rock House
The second home is the Breakwater Rock House which faces northwest towards the entrance to Silva Bay Marina on Gabriola Island overlooking the boat dock.
Wildlife
Breakwater Island is home for a variety of wildlife.
Deer, seals, sea otters, raccoons, clams, oysters, eagles and various other birds.
